What is ModbusCloud?
ModbusCloud is a monitoring platform for installers. You place the ModbusCloud Gateway next to a Modbus device. It reads data and sends it to a cloud dashboard. There you monitor all your installations, receive alerts on faults, and can check in remotely.
Who is ModbusCloud designed for?
For installers and installation companies that install and maintain Modbus equipment. Heat pump installers, HVAC companies, industrial installers and system integrators.
Does it work with devices other than heat pumps?
Yes. The gateway works with any Modbus device: energy meters, HVAC systems, ventilation units, compressors, variable frequency drives, pumps, refrigeration systems, solar inverters, climate controllers, and more. If it speaks Modbus, it works with ModbusCloud.

Does it work with my heat pump?
If your heat pump has a Modbus interface (RTU or TCP), then it works. Most heat pumps from ATAG, NIBE, Daikin, Vaillant, Bosch and other brands have Modbus. The device library contains 400+ templates. If your specific model is not yet listed, you can configure the registers manually.
Do I need Modbus knowledge?
If your device is in the template library: no. You select the device and the registers are configured automatically. If your device is not listed, you need basic knowledge of Modbus registers to set it up manually. We are continuously expanding the library.
How many devices can I connect per gateway?
Up to 5 Modbus devices per gateway by default, each with a maximum of 20 registers. For most installations, that is more than enough. Need more capacity? Get in touch.
What if there is no internet at the location?
The gateway has a built-in 4G module with dual-SIM failover. If no Ethernet is available, the gateway automatically switches to 4G. An activated 1NCE IoT SIM card (unlimited data, valid for 10 years) is included. Via 4G, data is sent every 15 minutes.
What happens when the internet goes down?
The gateway stores data locally. As soon as the connection is restored, the stored data is automatically sent. No data is lost.
Is the firmware updated automatically?
Yes. Firmware updates are rolled out automatically. You don't need to do anything.
Can my customer also view the dashboard?
No. The portal is only accessible to the installer. You manage the data and decide what you share with your customer.
Can I install it myself?
Yes. Connect it, provide power, configure via the QR code on the device, enter the serial number in the portal. Done in 15-20 minutes.
Pricing
What does it cost?
The gateway costs €295 (excl. VAT). The portal costs €149/year or €495 one-time (lifetime). Volume discounts available from 10 gateways.
Are there hidden costs?
No. The price includes the cloud dashboard, alerts, automatic updates, remote console, offline buffer, and a 4G IoT SIM card with unlimited data (valid for 10 years).

Technical / Data
Where is my data stored?
In the European Union. The platform is EU-hosted and GDPR-compliant. Data is not shared with third parties.
How secure is the connection?
All data is sent encrypted via TLS encryption. Data is stored on secure servers in the EU.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Historical data is exportable as CSV or JSON. In accordance with the EU Data Act, we offer full data portability.
Is there Dutch support?
Yes. ModbusCloud is a Dutch company. Support is available in Dutch, English and German.
