OpenEMS is the open-source energy management system used inside many commercial and residential battery storage products, and any OpenEMS-driven site exposes a standard Modbus-API. That API splits the installation into three logical components: the battery with state of charge and power flow, the grid connection with import and export power, and the PV input feeding the system — exactly the structure an installer expects on commissioning.
ModbusCloud templates follow the OpenEMS Modbus-API directly. You read battery state of charge, battery charge and discharge power, grid import and feed-in power, and PV generation through Modbus without walking through the OpenEMS specification. Live values stream into your portal, history supports energy reports and self-consumption analysis, and alerts fire on SOC thresholds, feed-in anomalies, or communication loss on any OpenEMS controller.
