Komfovent Komfovent DOMEKT C6M Modbus TCP template

Komfovent DOMEKT C6M

Monitors and controls Komfovent DOMEKT residential ventilation units via Modbus TCP

Template for the Komfovent DOMEKT C6M residential ventilation unit via Modbus TCP. Reads temperatures, airflow, fan speeds, energy data, filter status, and alarms. Controls ON/OFF, operating modes, airflow setpoints, and temperature setpoints across multiple ventilation profiles.

Use cases

  • Monitor supply, extract, exhaust, and outdoor temperatures on a live dashboard for residential ventilation projects.
  • Create alerts when filter impurity exceeds a threshold so maintenance can be scheduled proactively.
  • Adjust airflow setpoints for Away, Normal, Intensive, and Boost profiles remotely without visiting the site.
  • Track power consumption and energy saving data over time to verify ventilation system efficiency for customers.
  • Switch between ECO, AUTO, and manual operating modes remotely based on occupancy or seasonal requirements.
  • Set up automated notifications when the DOMEKT C6M reports active alarms or protection events.

Installation

  1. Connect the ModbusCloud Gateway to the same local network as the Komfovent DOMEKT C6M unit.

  2. Ensure Modbus TCP is enabled on the DOMEKT C6M via its web interface or front panel settings, and note the unit IP address and Modbus TCP port (default 502).

  3. Configure the gateway in the ModbusCloud platform with the correct IP address and port of the ventilation unit.

  4. Import the Komfovent DOMEKT C6M template from the ModbusCloud template library and assign it to the configured connection.

  5. Verify communication by checking that live temperature and airflow readings appear on the ModbusCloud dashboard.

  6. If controlling multiple units, assign a unique IP address to each DOMEKT C6M and create a separate connection for each.

Things to watch for

Why do airflow readings show zero or incorrect values?

Flow registers such as addresses 905 and 907 are uint32 and span two consecutive Modbus registers. Ensure the template is correctly configured for 32-bit register reads. If you modified the template, verify that both registers in each pair are read in the correct order.

What IP address and port should I use for Modbus TCP?

The default Modbus TCP port is 502. The IP address is configured on the DOMEKT C6M unit itself, either via the front panel or the built-in web interface. Make sure the gateway and the ventilation unit are on the same subnet.

Can I control ventilation profiles without affecting the unit schedule?

Yes. You can write to individual profile setpoints (Away, Normal, Intensive, Boost) independently. However, if the scheduler is active, the unit may switch profiles automatically. Disable the scheduler via the corresponding register if you want full manual control from ModbusCloud.

The unit does not respond to Modbus TCP requests. What should I check?

Confirm that Modbus TCP is enabled in the C6M settings. Check that no firewall or VLAN is blocking traffic on port 502 between the gateway and the unit. Verify the IP address is correct and that the unit is reachable via ping from the gateway network.
