SAX SAX Power Home (Plus) (grid)
SAX
Overview
The SAX Power Home (Plus) is a single-phase AC-coupled battery storage system with an integrated inverter, designed for residential photovoltaic installations. The SAX Power Home (Plus) communicates over Modbus TCP on port 502 and exposes register data across multiple slave entities. This template reads the grid power register (address 48) from the smartmeter slave, giving you real-time visibility of power flow at the grid connection point. Monitoring this value through the ModbusCloud Gateway lets installers and building owners track self-consumption and detect unexpected grid import or export at a glance.
Use cases
- Monitor real-time grid power flow to verify the SAX Power Home (Plus) is correctly offsetting household consumption.
- Track grid import trends over time to evaluate whether battery capacity needs to be expanded.
- Alert on sustained grid export above a threshold to catch inverter or smartmeter configuration faults.
- Compare grid power readings before and after firmware updates to verify consistent measurement behaviour.
