Extended engine data, plant states, active alarm list and PMS lite status of the DEIF AGC-4 Mk II controller.
The DEIF AGC-4 Mk II is a genset and CHP controller that reads the engine control unit and can coordinate several gensets in one plant. This Modbus RTU template reads the extended engine values with their validity flags, the M-Logic and plant states, the list of active alarms and the PMS lite status of every genset in the network into ModbusCloud.

Installation
Connect the controller with option H2 to the RS485 port of the ModbusCloud Gateway: terminal 29 to A and 31 to B, with termination at both ends.
Keep the controller settings of menus 7511 to 7513: ID 1, 9600 baud and RTU by default, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit.
In ModbusCloud, add a Modbus device (RTU) with the same address and import this template.
Check that engine speed and the validity flags come in, then remove from your dashboards what your engine does not send.
Things to watch for
The controller does not answer. What should I check?
The RS485 port is option H2. Check menus 7511 to 7513 (default ID 1, 9600 baud, RTU) and use 8 data bits, no parity and 1 stop bit. Swap A and B if nothing comes back and terminate both ends of the bus.
Why are many engine values zero?
The table covers engine control units of many makes. Only the values your engine sends over the engine interface are filled; the validity flags show which ones are valid. Use those flags before you set alarms on an engine value.
How do I read the active alarm list?
Each entry holds the address of one active alarm, 0 means empty. Look the number up in the Parameters tab of the DEIF utility software to find the alarm, for example the channel of an emergency stop.
How do I read a PMS lite version or mode value?
These registers hold two gensets each: the low byte is the first genset in the name, the high byte the second. Divide by 256 for the second genset and take the remainder for the first.
