ProMinent ProMinent DULCO-Pool SplashControl 2 Modbus RTU template

ProMinent DULCO-Pool SplashControl 2

Reads measured values from a swimming pool controller via Modbus.

This template reads pH and redox (ORP) measured values, states, and alarm thresholds from a ProMinent DULCO-Pool SplashControl 2 swimming pool controller via Modbus RTU. All registers are read-only, providing live water quality data for remote monitoring.

If a device is not in the library yet, we build the template for free as soon as we have the register data.

Number of installations (optional)

Use cases

  • Monitor pH and redox values of a customer's swimming pool remotely from the ModbusCloud dashboard.
  • Create an alert when pH or redox readings exceed the configured alarm thresholds for early intervention.
  • Verify alarm high and low setpoints remotely after commissioning a new pool installation.
  • Track water quality trends over time to optimize chemical dosing schedules.
  • Reduce unnecessary service visits by confirming normal operation through live measurement data.

Installation

  1. Connect the ProMinent DULCO-Pool SplashControl 2 to the ModbusCloud Gateway using a shielded two-wire RS-485 cable (A, B, and GND).

  2. Set the Modbus RTU baud rate on the SplashControl 2 to 19200 and assign a unique Modbus slave address.

  3. Configure the same baud rate (19200) and slave address on the corresponding serial port of the ModbusCloud gateway.

  4. Import the ProMinent DULCO-Pool SplashControl 2 template from the ModbusCloud template library and assign it to the gateway port.

  5. Verify that pH and redox measurement values appear correctly on the ModbusCloud dashboard before completing the installation.

  6. If multiple devices share the RS-485 bus, ensure each device has a unique Modbus address and terminate the bus at both ends.

Things to watch for

No data appears after connecting the SplashControl 2. What should I check?

Verify that the RS-485 wiring is correct (A to A, B to B, GND to GND). Confirm the baud rate is set to 19200 on both the controller and the gateway, and that the Modbus slave address matches the template configuration.

Measurement values show as zero or unexpected numbers. Why?

The template uses float32 for measurement and alarm registers and int32 for state registers. If byte order or word order is mismatched, values will be incorrect. Check that the gateway is configured for the correct byte order as expected by the SplashControl 2.

Can I write setpoints or control dosing pumps through this template?

No. All registers in this template are read-only. The template is designed for monitoring pH and redox values, states, and alarm thresholds only.

Which register addresses does this template use?

pH registers start at address 1200 and redox (ORP) registers start at address 1300. Consult the ProMinent Modbus documentation for your firmware version to confirm these addresses.
