SATEC PM130 PLUS control and status

Status, alarms, relay control and resets of the SATEC PM130 PLUS panel power meter.

The SATEC PM130 PLUS is a panel power meter that measures electrical values in switchboards and also offers relays, digital inputs and setpoint alarms. This Modbus RTU template reads relay, input, setpoint, alarm and communication status and lets you operate relays and clear energy, demand, counters and logs from ModbusCloud.

Send your device list

If a device is not in the library yet, we build the template for free as soon as we have the register data.

Use cases

  • Show relay and digital input states of a switchboard on the same dashboard as its measurements.
  • Send an email when a latched setpoint alarm or diagnostics flag becomes active.
  • Switch a relay output of the meter remotely to control a load or signal.
  • Reset maximum demand and energy counters at the start of a billing period.
  • Keep a history of digital input changes to see when a breaker or contact switched.

Installation

  1. Connect RS485 of the meter (COM1) to the ModbusCloud Gateway, A to A and B to B, with termination at both bus ends.

  2. Check address, baud rate and data format in the COM1 menu of the meter.

  3. In ModbusCloud, add a Modbus device with that address and import this template, next to the main PM130 PLUS template.

  4. Read the relay and input status to confirm communication before you use any control register.

Things to watch for

Why does writing a relay or reset register fail?

The meter can be password protected. Write the password to the 4-digit or 8-digit password register first; reading it back gives 0 when access is permitted and -1 when authorization is still required.

Why do TOU and power demand resets do nothing?

TOU energy, TOU demand and power demand only exist on the E and EH models. On a PM130P these registers have no effect.

Why does the meter not answer?

Check the address, baud rate and data format in the COM1 menu, swap A and B once if needed and make sure the bus is terminated. Each meter on the line needs its own address.

What should I watch out for with control registers?

Operating a relay switches whatever is wired to it, and clear registers erase energy, demand or log data for good. Writing 0xFFFF to the restart register restarts the meter. Agree with the owner of the installation before you use them.
