Schwörer Haus Schwörer room ventilation Modbus RTU template

Schwörer room ventilation

Controls Schwörer room ventilation systems via Modbus RTU.

This template lets you monitor and control Schwörer Haus room ventilation systems via Modbus RTU. It reads operating mode, air levels, heating and cooling status, error messages, and filter remaining life. It also allows you to set target temperatures, air levels, and reset errors.

Protocol
Modbus RTU
Connection
RS485, 19200 baud

Number of installations (optional)

Use cases

  • Monitor current air level and operating mode on a live dashboard for each Schwörer ventilation unit.
  • Create an alert when the remaining filter life drops below a set number of days to schedule timely replacement.
  • Adjust the target temperature for room 1 remotely without visiting the property.
  • Detect error messages and emergency mode conditions instantly and trigger notifications to the responsible technician.
  • Log heating and cooling function usage over time to analyze energy consumption patterns.
  • Reset ventilation errors remotely after resolving the underlying issue to restore normal operation.

Installation

  1. Connect the ModbusCloud Gateway to the Schwörer ventilation unit using a shielded twisted pair RS-485 cable, wiring A, B, and GND terminals correctly.

  2. Configure the Modbus RTU serial settings on the gateway to 19200 baud, odd parity, and 8 data bits to match the ventilation unit.

  3. Set the correct Modbus slave address on the Schwörer ventilation unit as specified in the manufacturer documentation.

  4. Import the Schwörer room ventilation template from the ModbusCloud template library into your project.

  5. Assign the configured gateway and slave address to the template in the ModbusCloud platform.

  6. Verify communication by checking that live readings such as operating mode, air level, and filter remaining life appear on the dashboard.

Things to watch for

Communication fails after wiring the gateway. What should I check?

Verify that the RS-485 A and B lines are not swapped and that the GND terminal is connected. Confirm the baud rate is set to 19200 and parity is set to odd (1) on both the gateway and the ventilation unit.

What units are used for air level and filter remaining time?

Air level values are expressed in steps (Stufe), typically ranging from 0 to the maximum supported level. Filter remaining time is reported in days (Tage).

Can I read and write the same register?

Yes. Registers 100, 101, 230, 231, 232, 932, and 948 support both read and write operations. Register 900 (current temperature room 1) is write-only and cannot be read back.

The target temperature for room 1 does not update on the ventilation display. What could be wrong?

Ensure you are writing to the correct register and that the ventilation unit is not in a mode that overrides manual temperature input. Check the Schwörer documentation for any mode-dependent write restrictions.
