Why does the gateway return no data from the H1 inverter?

The FoxESS H1 uses a default Modbus slave address of 247, not the more common value of 1. Confirm your unit ID is set to 247 in the ModbusCloud portal. Also check that only one Modbus master is polling the inverter at a time; simultaneous polling from two devices causes silent failures.

The soc register reads zero or an implausible value. What is wrong?

Register 11036 returns battery state of charge as a raw integer percentage with no scaling factor applied. If you are applying a scale of 0.1 or 10, remove it. Also confirm the battery is powered on and communicating with the inverter; if no battery is connected, the register may return zero.

Register reads work for a while then stop. What causes this?

The FoxESS H1 has register ranges that must not be bulk-read in a single request spanning those addresses. Poll the two registers in this template individually or in small batches. Also note that some firmware versions, particularly around Manager 1.56, can interrupt LAN-side connectivity; check the inverter firmware version if dropouts occur after an update.

Is the sign convention for the power register the same on all H1 models?

The H1 Series uses a specific sign convention where positive values represent discharge and negative values represent charge. This is the opposite of the KH series. If your readings appear inverted, confirm you are connected to an H1 Series unit and not a KH or H3, and that no scaling inversion is applied in your portal configuration.
