Overview
The SofarSolar Hybrid Inverter is a grid-tied PV and battery storage inverter designed for residential and small commercial installations. This template targets the grid measurement interface of the Hybrid Inverter and communicates via Modbus RTU over RS485. It reads total active grid power, per-phase currents for all three phases, and a cumulative grid-side energy counter. Together these registers give you a complete picture of import and export behaviour at the grid connection point, making it straightforward to track energy flows and verify grid compliance from the ModbusCloud portal.
Use cases
- Monitor total active grid power to verify the inverter is not exceeding permitted export limits.
- Track per-phase currents on phases A, B, and C to detect phase imbalance across the installation.
- Alert on unexpected sustained grid import during daylight hours to identify battery or PV faults.
- Report cumulative grid-side energy to building owners for monthly settlement and self-consumption calculations.
