Victron Meter Grid
Victron
Overview
The Victron Meter Grid is a three-phase grid measurement point within Victron Energy Storage Systems, surfaced through the GX device (Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX, or Venus GX) over Modbus TCP. The template reads the com.victronenergy.grid register block, covering per-phase active power (L1, L2, L3), voltage, current, and cumulative import and export energy counters for each phase. Together these registers give installers a complete, phase-resolved view of what flows between the site and the public grid, enabling precise import/export accounting and real-time ESS control feedback in the ModbusCloud portal.
Use cases
- Monitor per-phase active power on L1, L2, and L3 to detect persistent phase imbalances across three-phase sites.
- Track cumulative import energy per phase to verify monthly grid consumption figures against utility invoices.
- Track cumulative export energy per phase to confirm feed-in volumes reported to the grid operator.
- Alert on unexpected active power reversals on any single phase to spot wiring or CT orientation errors early.
