Windhager Best Heating Technology Heatpump
Monitors and controls Windhager heat pump systems via Modbus TCP
This template connects Windhager heat pump and heating systems via Modbus TCP. It reads temperatures, operating hours, energy data, and alarm codes. It also allows control of heating circuit modes, DHW modes, setpoints, SG Ready status, and party timers.

If a device is not in the library yet, we build the template for free as soon as we have the register data.
Use cases
- Monitor flow temperatures, DHW temperature, and heat pump output on a live cloud dashboard for your customer.
- Create an alert when an alarm code is reported by the Windhager heat generator to enable fast troubleshooting.
- Track operating hours and energy quantities over time to verify system efficiency and plan maintenance intervals.
- Control SG Ready status remotely to shift heat pump operation in response to dynamic electricity tariffs or PV surplus.
- Adjust eco and party setpoints and timers from the cloud without requiring on-site access to the InfoWIN Touch display.
- Log outside and room temperatures alongside heating circuit modes to optimize comfort and energy consumption.
Installation
Contact Windhager Customer Service to update your Infinity Plus controller and InfoWIN Touch display to the required Modbus TCP firmware (V3.2.0 for InfoWIN Touch, V1.00+ for LOGWIN2/DOUWIN2, V1.33+ for AEROWIN DELUXE).
Connect the ModbusCloud Gateway to the same local network as the Windhager system using an Ethernet cable.
Configure the Modbus TCP connection parameters on the Windhager system via the InfoWIN Touch software, noting the IP address and TCP port.
In the ModbusCloud portal, add a new device and import the Windhager heat pump template from the template library.
Enter the IP address and port of the Windhager system in the gateway configuration and verify that data points appear on the dashboard.
Test a control command, such as switching the heating circuit mode, to confirm bidirectional communication is working.
Things to watch for
My Windhager system does not respond to Modbus TCP requests. What should I check?
Verify that the InfoWIN Touch firmware has been updated to V3.2.0 and that the system software meets the minimum version (V1.00 for LOGWIN2/DOUWIN2, V1.33 for AEROWIN DELUXE). Confirm that the gateway and Windhager device are on the same subnet and that no firewall is blocking the Modbus TCP port.
Is my older Windhager system compatible with this template?
Systems based on MES+, MES Infinity, or Infinity-TA are not compatible. Only devices with the Infinity Plus controller and LAN capability can be updated to support Modbus TCP.
How do I obtain the firmware update for Modbus TCP?
The update can be ordered free of charge through Windhager Customer Service. They will provide the necessary firmware files and instructions for the InfoWIN Touch display and the heating system controller.
Which registers are used for SG Ready control?
The template includes a dedicated write register for SG Ready status. Consult the Windhager Modbus documentation for the exact register address and accepted values, and verify correct operation after setup.
