Monitors and controls Windhager log wood boilers via Modbus TCP
This template connects Windhager LogWIN2 log wood boilers to ModbusCloud via Modbus TCP. It reads boiler temperatures, buffer tank levels, heating circuit data, hot water status, and maintenance timers. It also allows control of heating modes, comfort setpoints, party timers, and ignition commands.

Installation
Connect the ModbusCloud Gateway to the same local network as the Windhager LogWIN2 boiler via Ethernet.
Ensure the InfoWIN Touch display is updated to Modbus TCP software version V3.1.0 or higher by contacting Windhager Customer Service if needed.
Verify that the LogWIN2 boiler runs Software V1.00 or higher (available from April 2025).
Configure the Modbus TCP IP address and port on the InfoWIN Touch display so the gateway can reach the boiler.
Import the Windhager LogWIN2 log wood boiler template in the ModbusCloud platform and assign it to the connected gateway.
Confirm that sensor readings such as boiler temperature and buffer tank temperatures appear correctly on the ModbusCloud dashboard.
Things to watch for
Which Windhager models are supported by this template?
Only the LogWIN2 DELUXE and LogWIN2 EDEL are supported. The boiler must run Software V1.00 or higher. MES+, MES Infinity, and Infinity-TA systems are not compatible.
Do I need to update the InfoWIN Touch display before using Modbus TCP?
Yes. The InfoWIN Touch display must be updated to software version V3.1.0 or higher. Contact Windhager Customer Service to order the free update.
What data types and scaling are used for temperature registers?
Temperature values use int16 or uint16 data types with 1-degree Celsius resolution. No decimal scaling is applied. Time registers are expressed in hours or minutes.
Can I connect the gateway over Modbus RTU instead of TCP?
No. This template uses Modbus TCP only. The LogWIN2 boiler must be connected via Ethernet on a local network accessible by the ModbusCloud gateway.
