Why do power and energy readings look far too low?

The ADW300 returns secondary values scaled to its CT and PT inputs. If you have, for example, a 200 A/5 A CT installed, the raw Modbus power value must be multiplied by the CT ratio (40 in this case) to get the true engineering value. Verify the CT and PT ratios configured on the meter match your physical transformers, and apply the same scaling factors in your ModbusCloud channel configuration.

The gateway connects but all register values read as zero or null.

Confirm the Modbus slave address set on the ADW300 matches the unit ID configured in the portal. Then check that the baud rate, data bits, stop bits, and parity on the meter match the Gateway RS485 port settings. A mismatch in any one of these parameters will produce silent read failures without an explicit error code.

Active power reads correctly but phase values are inconsistent with expected load.

Phase voltage and current on phases A, B, and C must be wired in the correct one-to-one correspondence. If voltage and current phases are mixed up, the per-phase active power calculation inside the meter will be wrong even if total power appears plausible. Check that CT clamps on each phase are matched to the voltage input for that same phase.

RS485 communication drops intermittently under load.

Long RS485 runs without proper termination, or cable runs alongside high-current power cables, cause reflections and interference. Use shielded twisted-pair cabling, keep the RS485 bus away from power conductors by at least 30 cm, add a 120-ohm termination resistor at the end of the bus, and limit the total bus length to 1200 metres or less.
