All registers return zero or an error after connecting. What is wrong?

Confirm the AM2 Ethernet port has a valid IP address and is reachable from the ModbusCloud Gateway (ping it first). The AM2 uses Modbus TCP on port 502 by default. If a managed switch or VLAN separates the devices, ensure port 502 is permitted. Also verify the unit ID in the portal matches the AM2 configuration.

Active power readings show unexpected negative values on L1 or L2.

The active_power_l1 and active_power_l2 registers are int64 and are signed by design, so negative values indicate power flowing in the reverse direction on that phase. Check Rogowski coil orientation: if a coil is installed backwards on a phase conductor, the sign will be inverted for that phase only.

Energy totals for production and consumption are not incrementing correctly.

The active_production_energy and active_consumption_energy registers are uint64 and hold cumulative watt-hours. If they appear frozen, confirm the AM2 has an active current path on the monitored phases. Also check that the Rogowski coil is fully closed around the conductor and seated correctly, as an open coil will read zero current.

Voltage readings seem off by a fixed factor. Is there a scaling issue?

The voltage registers are uint32 and the unit is volts. Some firmware versions of the AM2 apply an internal scaling factor. Cross-check the raw register value against the AM2 web interface reading. If they differ by a factor of 10 or 100, confirm which firmware version is installed and consult the Artemes AM2 documentation for the applicable scaling divisor for your variant.
