OIG CBB 3F QUEEN Modbus RTU template

CBB 3F QUEEN

Monitors and controls an all-in-one inverter, switchboard, and battery storage system via Modbus RTU.

The OIG CBB 3F QUEEN is an all-in-one inverter, switchboard, and battery storage unit developed by Czech company OIG Power. This Modbus RTU template reads PV production from two MPP trackers, grid and backup load per phase, battery state of charge, and fault status. It also allows setting the battery grid minimum SoC threshold.

Use cases

  • Monitor real-time PV production from both MPP trackers on a cloud dashboard for your customer.
  • Track battery state of charge remotely to verify self-consumption optimization throughout the day.
  • Create an alert when battery SoC drops below a critical threshold or a fault status is reported.
  • Adjust the battery grid minimum SoC setpoint remotely to adapt to seasonal consumption patterns.
  • Log three-phase grid power and backup load data over time for energy audits and reporting.
  • Compare per-phase grid voltages to detect imbalance or supply issues at the installation site.

Installation

  1. Wire the RS-485 (A/B) connection from the ModbusCloud Gateway to the Modbus RTU port on the OIG CBB 3F QUEEN.

  2. Set the gateway serial port to 9600 baud, odd parity (1 stop bit), matching the default communication settings of the CBB 3F QUEEN.

  3. Confirm or assign the Modbus slave address on the CBB 3F QUEEN and configure the same address in the ModbusCloud gateway.

  4. Import the OIG CBB 3F QUEEN template from the ModbusCloud template library into your project.

  5. Verify that PV power, battery SoC, and grid voltage readings appear correctly on the ModbusCloud dashboard before closing the installation.

Things to watch for

Why do PV power values appear incorrect or stuck at zero?

The PV power registers for MPP1 and MPP2 are int32 values that span two consecutive holding registers. Ensure your gateway is reading both registers as a single 32-bit value. If the register order is swapped, the reading will be incorrect.

What baud rate and parity settings does the CBB 3F QUEEN require?

The default settings are 9600 baud with odd parity (1 stop bit). Both the gateway and the CBB 3F QUEEN must use identical serial parameters, otherwise communication will fail.

Can I read the battery grid minimum SoC value without writing to it?

Yes. Register 40082 is both readable and writable. You can read the current setpoint at any time without affecting its value.

Is this template compatible with other OIG Batterybox models?

This template is specifically mapped for the CBB 3F QUEEN. Other OIG models may use different register maps. Using this template with a different model could produce incorrect readings or communication errors.
