E3DC GmbH E3DC Inverter Modbus TCP template

E3DC Inverter

Reads energy and battery values from E3DC storage inverters via Modbus TCP.

This ModbusCloud template reads PV power, battery state of charge and power, grid power, consumption power, and emergency-power status from E3DC storage inverters over Modbus TCP. It covers S10 Mini, S10E, S10X, and S10E Pro models with PV peak performance from 7.5 kWp to 20 kWp, returning signed int32 power values and uint16 status flags.

Use cases

  • Show grid import vs export on a clear dashboard to help the customer understand their self-sufficiency ratio.
  • Alert on emergency-power activation so the installer knows the battery kicked in during a grid outage and can log the event.
  • Log daily battery cycles by tracking state of charge over time for warranty and degradation analysis.
  • Compare PV production against home consumption to suggest the right time to run large loads like dishwashers or EV chargers.

Installation

  1. Log into the S10 web portal and enable Modbus TCP under the network settings.

  2. Note the S10 IP address and set a DHCP reservation in the router.

  3. In ModbusCloud, add a Modbus TCP device at the S10 IP, port 502, slave ID 1.

  4. Import the E3DC Inverter template. Power readings appear immediately, typically within one polling cycle.

Things to watch for

Grid power is positive when I am exporting. Is the sign wrong?

Double-check how E3DC defined the register for your firmware. Historically some versions define positive as import, others as export. The ModbusCloud template exposes the raw int32 and you can flip the sign in a derived metric on the dashboard if your expectation is different.

Can I write to S10 registers to force a charge or discharge?

Not through this template. E3DC locks external write access and only authorised partners or the S10 manager app can change control registers. If you need programmatic control, contact E3DC about their partner programme.
