Bösch MOZART/KLIMT-RW60 Heating & Cooling
Monitors and controls Bösch MOZART/KLIMT-RW60 heat pumps for heating, cooling, and PV integration.
This template integrates Bösch MOZART/KLIMT-RW60 heat pumps via Modbus RTU or Modbus TCP. It reads temperatures, COP values, thermal and electrical power, operating hours, and fault states. It also allows writing PV mode thermal power and target temperatures for heating and hot water.

Use cases
- Monitor supply and backflow temperatures, outdoor temperature, and COP values on a live cloud dashboard.
- Create alerts when a fault state is detected on the heat pump to reduce response time for service calls.
- Track compressor, fan, and pump operating hours to plan preventive maintenance intervals.
- Adjust PV mode target temperatures for heating and hot water remotely when PV surplus conditions change.
- Log thermal and electrical power over time to calculate seasonal performance factors for energy reporting.
- Compare COP values across heating, cooling, and hot water modes to optimize system configuration.
Installation
Locate the Interface-Module on the RW60 controller; its position varies depending on the specific MOZART or KLIMT model.
For Modbus RTU, connect the RS-485 A and B lines plus GND from the ModbusCloud gateway to the Interface-Module terminals.
For Modbus TCP, connect the RW60 controller to the local Ethernet network using a standard network cable and ensure the gateway can reach the heat pump IP address.
Contact Bösch service to activate the Modbus RTU or Modbus TCP protocol on the RW60 controller before commissioning.
Set the Modbus RTU baud rate on the ModbusCloud gateway to 38400 and configure the correct slave address as assigned to the heat pump.
Import the Bösch MOZART/KLIMT-RW60 template in the ModbusCloud platform and verify that all data points are reading correctly.
Things to watch for
Why am I not getting any response from the RW60 controller over Modbus?
Both Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP must be explicitly activated by Bösch service. Contact Bösch support and request activation before attempting communication.
What baud rate should I use for Modbus RTU?
The default baud rate for the RW60 controller is 38400. Make sure the ModbusCloud gateway is configured to match this setting exactly.
Can I both read and write to the PV mode registers?
Yes. Registers 301, 302, and 303 support both read and write operations. They control PV mode thermal power, heating target temperature, and hot water target temperature respectively.
Which MOZART models are supported by this template?
All MOZART models in the RW60 generation are supported, including the 9, 10, 13, 15, 20, and 30 kW variants in AC, HAC, WAC, and P configurations. Check the compatibility list on this page for the full overview.
