Installation
Connect the ModbusCloud Gateway to the same IP network as the MENNEKES AMTRON wallbox.
Open the AMTRON web interface and activate Modbus TCP as well as the energy management system (HEMS).
For 11kW devices, enable Phase switching mode under Settings, Product and Installation, General in the wallbox web interface.
Verify the wallbox firmware is at least version 1.5.21 to access all HEMS registers, and at least 1.1.33 for power-limit-based phase switching.
In the ModbusCloud portal, import the MENNEKES AMTRON 4You/4Business template and assign the correct IP address and Modbus TCP port of the wallbox.
Confirm live data appears on the dashboard by checking vehicle state and voltage readings, then configure any desired current or power limits.
Things to watch for
Which firmware version do I need for full functionality?
Automatic phase change via the power limit register requires firmware 1.1.33 or later. For the full set of HEMS status registers and charging network support, update to firmware 1.5.21 or later. Enable automatic online updates in the wallbox web interface to stay current.
Dynamic phase switching is not working on my 11kW wallbox. What should I check?
Open the wallbox web interface and navigate to Settings, Product and Installation, General. Make sure Phase switching mode is activated. Also confirm the firmware is at least version 1.1.33.
What Modbus TCP port does the AMTRON wallbox use?
By default the AMTRON uses the standard Modbus TCP port 502. Verify this in the wallbox web interface after enabling Modbus, and enter the same port in the ModbusCloud gateway configuration.
Can I manage multiple AMTRON wallboxes from one gateway?
Yes. The template supports a local charging network of multiple 4You 400/500 and 4Business 700 units. Add each wallbox as a separate device in ModbusCloud using its own IP address, then use the per-phase EMS current limit registers for load balancing.
