SATEC SATEC PM130 PLUS Min/Max Log Modbus RTU template

SATEC PM130 PLUS Min/Max Log

Panel meter log of minimum and maximum voltage, current, power and demand values with time stamps.

The SATEC PM130 PLUS is a three-phase panel meter that keeps a log of minimum and maximum values in switchboards and substations. This Modbus RTU template reads the logged extremes of voltage, current, power, power factor and frequency, and the maximum demands per tariff, each with its time stamp, into ModbusCloud.

Send your device list

If a device is not in the library yet, we build the template for free as soon as we have the register data.

Use cases

  • Show the highest current per phase and when it occurred on a ModbusCloud dashboard.
  • Send an alarm when the maximum kW demand of the month passes the contracted capacity.
  • Keep the minimum voltage per phase in history to find dips on a feeder.
  • Compare maximum demand per tariff between months for an energy report.
  • Check the time of the last maximum demand before you discuss a peak with the customer.

Installation

  1. Wire the RS485 port of the PM130 PLUS to the ModbusCloud Gateway, A to A and B to B, with termination at the end of the bus.

  2. Check the Modbus address, baud rate and parity of the meter in its communication setup.

  3. In ModbusCloud add a Modbus device on the Gateway with the same address as the main PM130 PLUS template, and import this template.

  4. Check that the maximum values and time stamps arrive; a time of 0 means the value has not been logged yet.

Things to watch for

Why are the maximum demand values zero?

Power and tariff demands are only measured by PM130E and PM130EH meters. On a PM130P these registers stay at zero. On E models check that the demand period has passed at least once since the log was cleared.

How do I read the time stamps?

Each time stamp is the number of seconds since 1 January 1970 as kept by the meter clock. Set the meter clock correctly, otherwise the moments in the log are shifted.

The values are a factor 10 or 100 off. What is wrong?

The meter has a low and a high resolution option. This template assumes the default low resolution: 1 V, 1 A and 1 kW. With high resolution and PT ratio 1 the meter returns 0.1 V, 0.01 A and 1 W, so change the scale of those registers.

Can I clear the min/max log from ModbusCloud?

Not with this template, which only reads. The clear command is in the PM130 PLUS control and status template.
