Why does the soc register always return zero or a fixed value?

There are two SoC registers in the Sigenergy protocol and they can diverge. Confirm you are querying address 30014 with function code 3 as a uint16. Also verify the Modbus slave address matches the target device, because plant-level registers require slave address 247 while per-inverter registers use the device's own assigned address.

The Gateway connects but the power register shows no data. What now?

Confirm Modbus TCP is enabled in the mySigen app and that port 502 is open on the inverter. If the inverter is on Wi-Fi, check for DHCP lease changes that may have shifted its IP address. Assign a static IP or DHCP reservation, then reconnect the Gateway.

The energy counter value looks implausibly large or jumps unexpectedly.

The energy register at address 30574 is a uint64 spanning four consecutive 16-bit holding registers. If your polling tool reads fewer than four registers, the value will be incorrect. Ensure the template's uint64 type is decoded as a big-endian 64-bit unsigned integer across all four contiguous registers.

Is it safe to write the limitsoc setpoint register frequently?

Write operations to address 40048 directly change the battery's discharge cut-off level. Setting this value too high can prevent the battery from discharging at all; setting it too low may stress the cells. Write this register deliberately and sparingly, confirm the applied value reads back correctly, and consult the Sigenergy documentation before automating writes.
