Sigenergy Sigenergy SigenStor Plant Modbus TCP template

Sigenergy SigenStor Plant

Monitors SigenStor energy storage system via Modbus TCP

This template reads key energy metrics from a Sigenergy SigenStor inverter (5 to 25 kW) via Modbus TCP. It provides state of charge, grid power, PV power, and storage power. No control registers are included.

Number of installations (optional)

Use cases

  • Monitor real-time PV production and battery state of charge on a cloud dashboard for your customer.
  • Create an alert when battery SOC drops below a defined threshold during peak hours.
  • Track grid import and export power to verify self-consumption optimization over time.
  • Generate weekly or monthly energy reports for residential SigenStor installations.
  • Verify correct system operation remotely after commissioning a new SigenStor inverter.

Installation

  1. Enable Modbus TCP on the SigenStor inverter using the local configuration interface or the Sigenergy commissioning app.

  2. Connect the ModbusCloud Gateway to the same local network as the SigenStor inverter.

  3. Note the IP address assigned to the SigenStor inverter and confirm the Modbus TCP port (typically 502).

  4. Import the Sigenergy SigenStor Plant template in the ModbusCloud platform and enter the inverter IP address and port.

  5. Verify that SOC, grid power, PV power, and storage power values appear correctly on the live dashboard.

Things to watch for

I see zero values for all registers. What should I check?

Confirm that Modbus TCP is enabled on the SigenStor inverter. Check that the gateway and inverter are on the same network and that the correct IP address and port are configured in the template.

Grid power and storage power show unexpected negative values. Is this normal?

Yes. These registers are signed int32 values. A negative value typically indicates power flowing in the opposite direction, for example grid export instead of import, or battery discharge instead of charge.

Which SigenStor models are supported by this template?

The template is compatible with all SigenStor models in the 5 kW to 25 kW range. Register addresses are consistent across this product family.

Do I need to configure byte order or word swap for the int32 registers?

The template is preconfigured with the correct byte order for SigenStor inverters. If you experience implausible readings, verify that the gateway is set to big-endian (high word first), which is the standard for Sigenergy devices.
