Overview
The SofarSolar HYD 5…20K-3PH is a three-phase hybrid inverter for residential and small commercial PV plus battery storage installations. This Modbus RTU template reads four PV input power channels (power_a through power_d), covering both MPPT strings, alongside a 32-bit cumulative energy counter. Connecting the ModbusCloud Gateway to the inverter RS485 port gives installers and asset managers continuous visibility of PV generation across all input channels, enabling yield verification and early fault detection without additional metering hardware.
Use cases
- Monitor real-time power output on each PV string channel to detect shading or soiling on individual strings.
- Track cumulative PV energy to verify monthly yield against the design estimate for each site.
- Compare power_a versus power_b to identify MPPT imbalance caused by module mismatch or partial shading.
- Alert on a sudden drop in any single channel to flag a blown string fuse or disconnected combiner.
