The id register returns a value other than 211. Why?

SunSpec devices auto-advertise their model ID based on their wiring configuration. A value of 212 means split single-phase (ABN), 213 means wye-connected three-phase, and 214 means delta-connected three-phase. Select the template matching the actual model ID reported by the device rather than changing wiring to force 211.

All float32 registers return garbage or wildly wrong values.

The SunSpec floating-point model uses IEEE 754 big-endian byte order with the high word first. If your gateway or Modbus master swaps word order, every float32 will decode incorrectly. Verify that the ModbusCloud Gateway is set to big-endian word order for this device, which is required by the SunSpec specification.

The meter connects but phvphb and phvphc always read zero.

Model 211 covers single-phase AN or AB connections. Registers for phases B and C are present in the block but are not populated by a single-phase device. Zero or NaN in those fields is expected behaviour, not an error. Use a Model 213 or 214 template for three-phase meters.

The gateway connects but no register values appear in the portal.

Check that the SunSpec discovery address is correct: the device must have the SunSpec magic identifier at Modbus register 40001 or 50001. If the meter uses a non-standard base address, set the SunSpec start address explicitly in the ModbusCloud Gateway configuration. Also confirm the unit ID matches the meter's configured Modbus slave address.
