SunSpec Modbus templates
All 88 available SunSpec templates for ModbusCloud.
Monitor SunSpec-compliant inverters, storage systems, and meters using the standard SunSpec Modbus register models.
SunSpec is an open information model for solar inverters, energy storage, meters, and environmental sensors. Rather than a manufacturer, SunSpec defines a standardised set of Modbus register models (103 Three Phase Inverter, 111/112 Float Inverters, 120 Nameplate, 122 Measurements & Status, 123 Immediate Controls, 124 Storage, and more) that many hardware vendors implement. If your device carries the SunSpec label, these templates give you a drop-in configuration without digging through vendor-specific register maps.
ModbusCloud ships ready-made templates for the full SunSpec model family so you can read nameplate data, live AC and DC measurements, status flags, storage state, and basic settings over Modbus. Whether the device speaks Modbus TCP over Ethernet or RTU over RS485, pick the SunSpec model that matches the firmware and the register addresses, scaling factors, and data types are already mapped. That matters for fleets where installers meet mixed hardware but want one consistent dashboard.
All SunSpec templates are free to browse. Import the model that matches your device into your ModbusCloud portal and read live data within minutes — no register mapping, no combing through SunSpec specification PDFs.
What you can read out
- AC active power and energy totals
- DC voltage, current, and power
- Inverter operating state and event flags
- Battery state of charge and storage limits
- Nameplate ratings and device identification
Typical installations
- Mixed-vendor PV fleets standardised on SunSpec-compliant inverters and meters
- Commercial storage sites where operators need one register model across hardware
- Retrofit projects replacing legacy loggers with standards-based Modbus polling
