Modbus TCP
SunSpec Model 64415 — CSIP Client Control
SunSpec
Overview
SunSpec Model 64415 is a vendor-extension Modbus model that exposes the control and status interface of a Common Smart Inverter Profile (CSIP) IEEE 2030.5 client embedded in a DER device. The model is read over Modbus TCP and covers three writable configuration registers: event logging enable, HTTP messaging control, and a certificate status flag for the mandatory TLS authentication requirement defined in CSIP. Monitoring these registers through the ModbusCloud Gateway lets integrators verify that a DER asset is correctly enrolled in a utility demand-response program and that its secure communication stack is operating as expected.
Use cases
- Verify that the CSIP client event-logging flag is enabled before commissioning a new DER site under utility oversight.
- Monitor the HTTP messaging register to confirm the IEEE 2030.5 client is actively exchanging data with the utility server.
- Alert on unexpected changes to the certificate status register, which may signal a lapsed or revoked TLS credential.
