A frozen derhb counter means the DER device has stopped incrementing its heartbeat, which typically indicates the device firmware has faulted, restarted, or lost its Modbus server process. Power-cycle the device, check firmware logs if available, and confirm the Modbus TCP server is running before re-connecting the Gateway.

Writing to controllerhb or opctl has no apparent effect. What should I check?

Several devices require the locremctl register to indicate remote-control mode before they accept writes to RW registers. Confirm the device is not in local mode. Also check that Modbus write access is explicitly enabled in the device communication settings, as many DER devices disable write access by default and require a separate activation step.

Is it safe to write to opctl and alarmreset without precautions?
