Acond modbus
Monitors and controls Acond PRO and Grandis series heat pumps via Modbus TCP/IP.
Template for Acond PRO and Grandis series heat pumps via Modbus TCP/IP. Reads temperatures, compressor data, and error codes. Allows control of zone setpoints, DHW temperature, pool setpoint, and operating modes.

If a device is not in the library yet, we build the template for free as soon as we have the register data.
Use cases
- Monitor indoor zone temperatures and DHW temperature on a live cloud dashboard for your customer.
- Adjust heating setpoints remotely when a building occupant reports comfort issues.
- Create an alert when a compressor error code is reported so you can respond before a service call.
- Track compressor speed and power over time to verify seasonal efficiency.
- Log water outlet and return temperatures to detect performance degradation of the heat pump.
- Set pool temperature setpoints remotely during seasonal changeovers.
Installation
Enable Modbus TCP/IP communication on the Acond PRO or Grandis heat pump controller and note the assigned IP address.
Connect the ModbusCloud Gateway to the same local network as the heat pump, using a standard Ethernet cable.
In the ModbusCloud platform, add a new Modbus TCP device and enter the heat pump IP address and the correct Modbus TCP port (typically 502).
Import the Acond Modbus template from the ModbusCloud library to automatically map all registers for reading and control.
Verify communication by checking that actual temperature values and compressor status appear on the dashboard.
If you plan to supply external sensor values via registers 0 through 15, configure the corresponding write values in the template settings.
Things to watch for
Which Modbus TCP port does the Acond heat pump use?
By default, Acond heat pumps listen on TCP port 502. Confirm this in the heat pump controller network settings before connecting.
Can I write to actual temperature registers without causing issues?
Registers 0 through 15, including T_act registers, are writable by design. Writing to them feeds external sensor values into the controller. Only do this if you intend to override the built in sensor readings with values from external probes.
Do I need a specific firmware version on the Acond heat pump?
Modbus TCP/IP support must be enabled in the heat pump controller. Check with Acond or your distributor that the installed firmware version supports Modbus TCP communication.
What happens if the gateway loses network connectivity?
The heat pump continues to operate using its last known setpoints and internal sensor values. Once the gateway reconnects, ModbusCloud resumes reading and writing registers automatically.
