Use cases

• Monitor real-time charging state, voltage, current, and power of the AMPERFIED wallbox on a cloud dashboard.
• Set maximum charging current remotely to match available solar surplus or grid capacity.
• Create alerts when PCB temperature exceeds safe thresholds to prevent hardware damage.
• Track cumulative energy consumption per wallbox for tenant billing or energy reporting.
• Configure failsafe current and watchdog timeout to ensure safe fallback if gateway communication is lost.
• Lock or unlock the wallbox remotely to restrict charging access outside permitted hours.

Installation

1. 1Connect the ModbusCloud gateway (MCG or MLP series) to the same local network as the AMPERFIED Wallbox connect.home, ensuring both devices can communicate over TCP.
2. 2Verify that Modbus TCP is enabled on the wallbox and note the IP address and Modbus TCP port (default is typically 502).
3. 3In the ModbusCloud portal, add a new device and import the AMPERFIED Wallbox connect.home template from the template library.
4. 4Enter the wallbox IP address, port, and Modbus unit ID in the device configuration within the ModbusCloud portal.
5. 5Confirm that live readings such as charging state, voltage, and power appear correctly on the dashboard before deploying control commands.
6. 6Set the watchdog timeout and failsafe current values to appropriate levels so the wallbox reverts to a safe state if communication drops.
