Bayrol Bayrol Poolmanager 5 Modbus TCP template

Bayrol Poolmanager 5

Monitors swimming pool water quality via Modbus TCP for Bayrol PoolManager 5th generation controllers.

This template connects to BayrolPoolManager 5th generation controllers via Modbus TCP. It reads pool water quality data including pH, free chlorine or bromine, redox potential, temperatures, battery voltage, and alarm statuses. All 61 registers are read-only.

If a device is not in the library yet, we build the template for free as soon as we have the register data.

Number of installations (optional)

Use cases

  • Monitor pH, chlorine, and redox values on a live cloud dashboard for remote pool management.
  • Create alerts when pH or disinfectant levels drift outside configured alarm thresholds.
  • Track water temperature trends across multiple temperature sensors over days or weeks.
  • Log battery voltage readings to schedule preventive maintenance before controller power failures.
  • Oversee multiple hotel or public swimming pools from a single ModbusCloud account.
  • Verify that dosing setpoints match the intended configuration without an on-site visit.

Installation

  1. Connect the ModbusCloud Gateway to the same local network as the Bayrol PoolManager controller.

  2. Ensure Modbus TCP is enabled on the Bayrol controller and note the IP address assigned to it.

  3. In the ModbusCloud portal, add a new device and import the Bayrol Poolmanager 5 template from the template library.

  4. Configure the IP address and Modbus TCP port of the Bayrol controller in the gateway connection settings.

  5. Verify that live values for pH, temperature, and alarm status appear correctly on the ModbusCloud dashboard.

Things to watch for

Can I change setpoints or control dosing remotely through this template?

No. All 61 registers in this template are read-only. Setpoints and alarm thresholds are exposed for monitoring, but writing to them is not supported. Dosing and configuration changes must be made on the Bayrol controller directly.

Which Bayrol controllers are compatible with this template?

The template works with all 5th generation controllers from 2012 onward. This includes PoolManager Chlorine, Bromine, Oxygen, PoolManager PRO, Analyt 2, Analyt 3, and Analyt 3 Hotel.

The gateway cannot connect to the Bayrol controller over Modbus TCP. What should I check?

Confirm that Modbus TCP is enabled in the controller settings. Verify the IP address and TCP port (commonly 502). Ensure the gateway and the Bayrol controller are on the same subnet or that routing is configured correctly.

Do I need to configure register scaling or byte order manually?

No. The template includes the correct register addresses, data types, and scaling factors. No manual adjustment is required after importing the template.
