All three registers return zero or no data. What is wrong?

The Solis RHI inverter RS485 COM port uses a proprietary connector (Exceedconn EC04681-2014-BF). If you are using bare wires or an unverified adapter, pin contact may be unreliable. Confirm pin 3 is A(+) and pin 4 is B(-), check that the baud rate on both ends is 9600, 8N1, and that the slave address in the portal matches the inverter address menu.

The SOC register (33139) reads an implausibly large number. Why?

The Solis documentation notes that register addresses in the 33xxx range are used as-is in the message frame with no offset. If your Modbus master is applying a 1-based offset and querying address 33138 instead of 33139, you will receive the wrong register. Confirm your tool sends the literal decimal address 33139 with function code 4 and no subtraction.

Battery power (33149) always shows a positive value even when discharging. Is this normal?

Register 33149 is a signed int32 (S32) spanning addresses 33149 and 33150. Positive values indicate charging, negative values indicate discharging. If your client reads only the first 16-bit word, you will always get an unsigned positive result. Make sure you read both words as a single 32-bit signed integer using big-endian word order.

Some registers appear missing after a firmware update. What should I check?

Ginlong has revised the Solis RHI register map across firmware versions, and some registers are only available once the inverter firmware is updated to a recent release. If registers 33149 or 33165 return illegal address errors after a firmware change, verify the installed firmware version on the inverter info screen and consult the Ginlong/Solis service portal for the matching register map revision.
