All register reads time out even though wiring looks correct.

The Solis inverter RS485 port requires a minimum inter-frame gap of more than 300 ms between requests. If your polling interval is too short or the Gateway sends back-to-back frames, the inverter will not respond. Increase the polling interval and confirm the ModbusCloud Gateway is respecting the required gap.

The power register returns a value that seems far too large.

The Solis grid meter active power register uses a scaling factor of 0.001 kW per raw unit, so the raw int32 value must be divided by 1000 to get kilowatts, or multiplied by 1 to get watts at the raw scale. Confirm that your template scaling is set correctly; a misconfigured scale produces values off by a factor of 1000.

No data appears after connecting, even though the Gateway is online.

The Solis inverter Modbus port and the manufacturer data logger (S-series stick) cannot reliably operate simultaneously on the same RS485 bus. If the Ginlong data logger is connected, disconnect it or use an RS485 splitter designed for this purpose before polling with the ModbusCloud Gateway.

Energy register reads zero permanently after the inverter restarts.

The cumulative energy counter in some Solis firmware revisions resets on power cycle. This is normal device behavior; the ModbusCloud portal will accumulate daily deltas correctly as long as the previous reading is stored before the inverter powers down each evening.
