The gateway connects but both registers return zero or no data. Why?

Check that the RS485 A and B wires are not swapped at either end. The Solis RHI uses a proprietary COM connector; pin A and pin B must match the Gateway terminals exactly. Also confirm the inverter slave address in the portal matches the address shown under the inverter's Modbus settings menu. A mismatch causes silent timeouts.

The Solis cloud logger is connected. Can I poll Modbus at the same time?

Concurrent use of the manufacturer's Wi-Fi or GPRS data logger and a local Modbus master on the same RS485 bus is unreliable on the RHI series. Both devices share the same COM port. Remove or disconnect the data logger from the RS485 bus while using the ModbusCloud Gateway, or use an RS485 splitter only if latency-tolerant polling intervals are acceptable.

Register 33029 shows a value that seems too small. Is the unit correct?

Address 33029 holds total energy generation as a uint32 value in whole kilowatt-hours (1 kWh per count). The register spans two consecutive 16-bit words (33029 and 33030) forming a 32-bit value. If your reading tool only fetches one word, the result will be incorrect. Confirm the template is reading two registers starting at 33029 to reconstruct the full uint32.

Power at address 33057 reads correctly but energy at 33029 never updates. What is wrong?

Energy totals on Solis RHI inverters update at a low frequency, typically once per minute or less. If polling more frequently, the value appears frozen between updates. This is expected behavior. Also verify the gateway poll interval is at least 30 seconds; high-frequency polling on a shared RS485 bus can cause bus contention and missed responses.
