Juice Charger Juice Charger me Modbus TCP template

Juice Charger me

Controls and monitors a Juice Charger me wallbox for electric vehicle charging via Modbus TCP.

This template connects to the Juice Charger me wallbox via Modbus TCP. It reads charging status, energy consumption, voltage per phase, and vehicle state. It also allows setting the HEMS current limit to manage EV charging power.

Use cases

  • Monitor real-time EV charging power and session energy from a remote dashboard.
  • Set the HEMS current limit dynamically to balance EV charging with other building loads.
  • Create an alert when the vehicle control pilot state changes to detect plug-in or plug-out events.
  • Track total energy consumption per wallbox for billing or energy reporting purposes.
  • Integrate solar surplus charging by adjusting the HEMS current limit based on PV production data.
  • Verify voltage levels on L1, L2, and L3 to detect phase imbalance during charging sessions.

Installation

  1. Connect the ModbusCloud Gateway to the same local network as the Juice Charger me wallbox.

  2. Open the wallbox web interface by navigating to its IP address in a browser and log in with the operator credentials.

  3. Under Load Management, enable the Modbus TCP Server, choose a base port, and set the Register Address Set to OMCCI.

  4. Save the settings and restart the wallbox to activate the Modbus TCP server.

  5. In the ModbusCloud platform, import the Juice Charger me template and enter the wallbox IP address and configured base port.

  6. Verify the connection by checking that live readings such as total power and voltage appear on the dashboard.

Things to watch for

The gateway cannot connect to the wallbox over Modbus TCP. What should I check?

Confirm that the Modbus TCP Server is enabled in the wallbox web interface under Load Management. Verify that the base port matches what you configured in the ModbusCloud template and that both devices are on the same network.

Readings return zero or no data after setup. What could be wrong?

Make sure the Register Address Set is set to OMCCI in the wallbox configuration. Other register sets use different address mappings and will not be compatible with this template. Save and restart the wallbox after making changes.

Can I control the charging current remotely through ModbusCloud?

Yes. The template includes a writable HEMS Current Limit register. You can adjust it from the ModbusCloud dashboard or through automation rules to manage how much current the wallbox offers to the connected EV.

What are the default login credentials for the wallbox web interface?

The default username is operator and the default password is JuiCeMeUP! as documented by the manufacturer. Change these credentials if the wallbox is accessible on a shared network.
