If a device is not in the library yet, we build the template for free as soon as we have the register data.
Use cases
- Monitor outdoor and supply air temperatures on a live dashboard to verify cooling performance.
- Track water consumption and energy usage over time to report on sustainability metrics.
- Create an alert when any of the 13 alarm registers activates, so you can respond to faults quickly.
- Remotely adjust fan speed and temperature setpoints to optimize comfort without a site visit.
- Switch between cooling and heating enable modes remotely when seasonal conditions change.
- Log energy meter data in kWh to generate monthly efficiency reports for your customer.
Installation
Connect the ModbusCloud Gateway to the same local network as the Oxycom IntrCooll Modbus board.
Configure the Oxycom Modbus board using the configuration layout provided by Oxycom, ensuring register mapping matches the template.
Set the correct IP address of the Oxycom unit in the ModbusCloud gateway configuration and verify Modbus TCP communication on port 502.
Import the Oxycom IntrCooll template from the ModbusCloud template library and assign it to the gateway.
Verify that key readings such as outdoor temperature, energy meter, and alarm registers appear correctly on the ModbusCloud dashboard.
Note that register 227 (ALARM_9) may return a Modbus error over Ethernet, which can be safely ignored.
Things to watch for
Why does register 227 (ALARM_9) return a Modbus error?
This is a known issue when communicating via Ethernet Modbus TCP. The error on register 227 can be safely ignored and does not affect other registers or system operation.
How do I configure the Oxycom Modbus board correctly?
Use the configuration layout provided by Oxycom to set up the Modbus board. Ensure the register mapping matches the template before connecting the gateway.
What baud rate or network settings do I need for Modbus TCP?
Modbus TCP does not use a baud rate setting. Ensure the Oxycom unit and the ModbusCloud gateway are on the same network and that TCP port 502 is accessible.
Can I control the unit remotely or is this template read-only?
The template supports both reading and writing. You can control thermostat on/off, fan speed, temperature setpoints, operation mode, and cooling or heating enable directly from the ModbusCloud dashboard.
