Installation

1. 1Commission the Raedian NEX AVIA VOLT wallbox using the Raedian install app and assign a fixed IP address via LAN or WLAN.
2. 2Connect the ModbusCloud gateway (MCG or MLP series) to the same local network as the wallbox.
3. 3Verify that the wallbox is reachable on its fixed IP address from the gateway network.
4. 4Import the Raedian NEX AVIA VOLT template in the ModbusCloud platform and configure the wallbox IP address and Modbus TCP port.
5. 5Confirm that readings such as charging state, voltage, and current appear correctly on the ModbusCloud dashboard.
6. 6Set the maximum charging current limit according to your grid capacity and the installed fuse rating for the wallbox.

Things to watch for

The gateway cannot connect to the wallbox over Modbus TCP. What should I check?

Verify that the wallbox has a fixed IP address assigned via the Raedian install app. Ensure the gateway and wallbox are on the same network and that no firewall rules block Modbus TCP traffic on port 502.

I set a charging current value but the session paused instead of charging. Why?

The valid range for Mode 3 charging is 6000 to 32000 (representing 6A to 32A). Values between 0 and 5999 will pause the charging session. Set the value to at least 6000 to resume charging.

Can I use WLAN instead of LAN for the wallbox connection?

Yes, the AVIA VOLT supports both LAN and WLAN. However, a fixed IP address is required regardless of the connection method. A wired LAN connection is generally more reliable for Modbus TCP communication.

What determines the maximum charging current I can set?

The maximum charging current depends on your grid capacity and the fuse rating installed for the wallbox. Do not exceed the rated capacity of your electrical installation.
