Overview
The SMA Smart Energy Hybrid Inverter is a residential and light-commercial hybrid PV inverter that manages solar generation, battery storage, and grid exchange in a single unit. This Modbus TCP template reads the inverter's grid metering registers: total grid import power, total grid export power, cumulative grid energy drawn, and per-phase currents and directional active power for all three phases. Each phase pair separates consumption from feed-in, enabling accurate signed power calculation without relying on a separate meter. The template gives installers and energy managers a complete picture of grid interaction directly in the ModbusCloud portal.
