SOLARFOCUS SOLARFOCUS Pelletelegance,Octoplus, Ecotop, Pellettop Modbus TCP template

SOLARFOCUS Pelletelegance,Octoplus, Ecotop, Pellettop

Monitors and controls SOLARFOCUS biomass pellet boilers via Modbus TCP.

This template connects SOLARFOCUS biomass pellet boilers (Pellet Elegance, Octoplus, Ecotop, Pellet Top) to ModbusCloud via Modbus TCP. It reads boiler temperature, status, cleaning level, ash box fill level, storage temperatures, and outside temperature. It also allows writing an external outside temperature value.

Use cases

  • Monitor boiler temperature and status in real time on a cloud dashboard for remote facility management.
  • Create alerts when the ash box fill level exceeds a threshold so maintenance can be scheduled before overflow.
  • Track cleaning level over time to optimize service intervals and reduce unnecessary site visits.
  • Log outside temperature and boiler output to analyze heating performance across seasonal changes.
  • Write an external outside temperature value from a weather service to improve boiler control logic.
  • Combine pellet boiler data with PV or heat pump templates for a complete hybrid energy overview.

Installation

  1. Connect the ModbusCloud Gateway to the same local network as the SOLARFOCUS ecoManager-touch controller.

  2. Enable Modbus TCP on the ecoManager-touch and note the IP address and port (typically port 502).

  3. Configure the Modbus TCP connection in the ModbusCloud portal by entering the IP address, port, and unit ID of the ecoManager-touch.

  4. Import the SOLARFOCUS Pellet Elegance, Octoplus, Ecotop, Pellet Top template from the ModbusCloud template library.

  5. Verify that live readings such as boiler temperature, cleaning level, and ash box fill level appear correctly on the dashboard.

  6. If using the external outside temperature write function, configure the corresponding register and confirm the value is accepted by the boiler controller.

Things to watch for

Which SOLARFOCUS controller is required for Modbus TCP?

The ecoManager-touch controller is required. It must be configured with Modbus TCP enabled. Older controllers without network capability are not supported by this template.

What data types and scaling are used for the registers?

All registers are int16 or uint16. Temperatures are in degrees Celsius without additional scaling. Cleaning level and ash box fill level are in percent (0 to 100).

Do I need to configure heating circuits and buffers separately?

The ecoManager-touch must be combined with heating circuits, hot water storages, and buffers for full operation. This template reads boiler-level data. Additional templates or registers may be needed for circuit-level monitoring.

Can I use this template for hybrid systems with multiple heat sources?

Yes. You can combine this template with other ModbusCloud templates for PV inverters, heat pumps, or energy meters to build a complete hybrid energy dashboard.
