The gateway connects but all register values read zero or timeout. Why?

The ZCS Azzurro Inverter only responds on RS485 when the RS485 communication icon is visible on the inverter display. If the icon is absent, go to the inverter's Settings menu, open each communication parameter (Modbus address, baud rate), confirm without changing any value, and the RS485 link should reactivate.

I read garbage or CRC errors on the RS485 bus. What is wrong?

ZCS Azzurro inverters use 9600 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit. A mismatch on any of these parameters, or reversed A+/B- wires, causes CRC errors. Try swapping the A and B leads first; several installers have resolved persistent CRC failures this way.

Phase currents on registers 519, 521, or 523 show implausible values. What could cause this?

The three-phase register map uses different base addresses than single-phase models. Confirm you are using the three-phase template variant. Also verify that the inverter firmware is current, as older firmware versions are known to truncate FC-03 response frames, producing corrupt values.

The energy register at address 544 stopped incrementing. Is the counter broken?

The energy register is a uint32 cumulative counter. If the inverter is off (nighttime or fault state), the counter does not increment; this is normal behavior. If the counter stays static during daylight generation, re-check the RS485 connection and confirm the Modbus address has not been reset to 00, which disables communication.
