Agrowtek DX Series I/O Module
DIN-rail I/O modules for sensors, relays and analog outputs in grow rooms.
The Agrowtek DX series are DIN-rail I/O modules that connect sensors, contactors, dimmers and fans in grow rooms. This Modbus RTU template reads analog inputs, relay states and closure counters, and lets you switch relays and set PWM or 0-10 V outputs from ModbusCloud.

If a device is not in the library yet, we build the template for free as soon as we have the register data.
Use cases
- Switch a dehumidifier or extraction fan through a DXR6 relay from a ModbusCloud schedule or threshold.
- Set a 0-10 V dimming level for grow lights on a DXV4 output.
- Log moisture or pressure sensors connected to a DXI8 and send an email alert on a threshold.
- Follow relay closure counts to plan contactor maintenance.
- Set the communication timeout so outputs turn off if the bus goes quiet.
Installation
Connect the GrowNET port of the module to an Agrowtek LX2 ModLINK and the LX2 RS485 terminals to the ModbusCloud Gateway.
Give each DX module a unique device address and keep the LX2 at 19,200 baud, 8-N-1, or match a changed setting.
In ModbusCloud add a Modbus device with that address and import this template.
Delete the inputs and outputs your module does not have, then check one input value before switching any output.
Things to watch for
Some registers return an illegal address error. Is that a fault?
No. Each module only answers the inputs and outputs it has, for example a DXR6 has no analog inputs. Remove those registers from the device in ModbusCloud.
Which unit does an output value use?
PWM outputs take a duty cycle from 0 to 100 %, 0-10 V outputs take 0 to 10,000 mV. Check which output type your module has before writing a value.
The module does not answer at all. What should I check?
Check the LX2 ModLINK power and serial settings, the RS485 polarity and termination, and that no other device uses the same address. The reset button behind the pin hole clears the stored address.
Why do the outputs switch off on their own?
The communication timeout turns the outputs off when no Modbus traffic arrives within the set number of seconds. Raise the timeout or poll the module more often.
