Agrowtek GCX Dosing Recipes
Dosing recipe set points of the Agrowtek GCX controller over Modbus TCP.
The Agrowtek GrowControl GCX stores fertigation recipes with pH, ORP and nutrient set points. This Modbus TCP template reaches those recipes on unit ID 202 and lets you read and change the selected recipe from ModbusCloud.

Send your device list
If a device is not in the library yet, we build the template for free as soon as we have the register data.
Use cases
- Show the pH and EC targets of the active recipe next to the measured values on a ModbusCloud dashboard.
- Change the pH target of a recipe remotely when a crop moves to the next growth stage.
- Check the dose size of each nutrient part before a new batch is mixed.
- Log recipe changes over time by recording the target values every hour.
Installation
Enable the TCP command server on the GCX controller and note its IP address and port (502 or 4040).
Connect the GCX to the same network as the ModbusCloud Gateway.
In ModbusCloud add a Modbus TCP device with that IP address, the chosen port and unit ID 202, and import this template.
Write the recipe index you want to see and check that the recipe name matches before changing any target.
Things to watch for
All values show the wrong recipe. Why?
The recipe registers always show the recipe selected in the recipe index register. Write the index of the recipe you want first, then read the values.
The device does not answer. What should I check?
Check that the TCP command server is enabled on the GCX, that the port matches (502 or 4040) and that the unit ID is 202, not the address of a sensor or relay.
Values look shifted by one register. What is wrong?
The manual lists the recipe registers by number without saying whether that number is sent as is or minus one. This template sends it as is; if names and targets look shifted, subtract one from each address.
Why is the pH target 650 instead of 6.5?
The pH target is stored as pH x100. The template applies a scale of 0.01, so check that the scale is still set on that register.
