Agrowtek LXD DigiLINK
Brightness and spectrum control for digital LED grow lights.
The Agrowtek LXD DigiLINK connects digital LED grow lights to a controller and passes brightness and spectrum commands to one lighting zone. This Modbus RTU template lets you choose the fixture protocol and set up to eight channel values from ModbusCloud.

If a device is not in the library yet, we build the template for free as soon as we have the register data.
Use cases
- Dim a lighting zone to 60 % brightness at the end of the day from a ModbusCloud schedule.
- Change the red and far-red share of a Fohse or ThinkGrow fixture for a flowering phase.
- Show the current channel values of each lighting zone on a ModbusCloud dashboard.
- Set a communication timeout so the lights switch off when the bus is lost.
Installation
Wire the fixtures to the RJ-12 port or the A and B terminals of the LXD as shown in the manual.
Connect the GrowNET port to an Agrowtek LX2 ModLINK and the LX2 RS485 terminals to the ModbusCloud Gateway.
In ModbusCloud add a Modbus device with the LXD address at 19,200 baud, 8-N-1, and import this template.
Write the light manufacturer number first, then set a low value on channel 1 and check that the fixtures respond.
Things to watch for
The fixtures do not react to channel values. What should I check?
Write the light manufacturer number that matches your fixtures before writing channel values, and check that the LXD firmware is 0.0.13 or later. Some channels only exist on certain models.
Which range does a channel take?
Most channels take 0 to 100. Scynce uses a zone number from 0 to 20 and values up to 255. The LXD manual lists the range per manufacturer and channel.
Why do the lights switch off on their own?
The communication timeout turns the light off when no Modbus traffic arrives within the set number of seconds. Raise the timeout or poll the module more often.
The device model register does not answer. Is that a fault?
The LXD manual lists the model at 41020, where other Agrowtek modules use 40020. If it does not answer, change the address of that register from 1019 to 19.
