Total energy reads a much bigger number than the inverter display. Is the template wrong?

Growatt energy registers are uint32 spanning two consecutive addresses. If decoded as uint16, the low word shows huge values. Confirm data type is uint32 in the ModbusCloud template. The default template handles this correctly.

Grid output power per phase is in kVA, not kW. Why?

Growatt publishes apparent power per phase rather than real power. For most residential installs kVA is close to kW because the inverter operates near unity power factor. If you need precise real power per phase, use a separate energy meter on each phase.
