E+E Elektronik EE210 - Humidity and Temperature Sensor for Demanding Climate Control
Measures humidity, temperature, and dew point for demanding climate control applications.
The E+E Elektronik EE210 is a high-accuracy humidity and temperature sensor designed for demanding climate control. This Modbus RTU template reads relative humidity, temperature, dew point, frost point, and absolute humidity. All values are transmitted as float32 registers.

If a device is not in the library yet, we build the template for free as soon as we have the register data.
Use cases
- Monitor relative humidity and temperature in a climate-controlled storage room via a live dashboard.
- Create an alert when dew point temperature approaches a critical threshold to prevent condensation damage.
- Log absolute humidity trends over weeks to verify HVAC system performance for compliance reporting.
- Track frost point temperature in cold storage facilities to detect conditions that could cause ice formation.
- Compare humidity readings across multiple EE210 sensors installed in different zones of a building.
Installation
Connect the EE210 to the Modbus gateway RS-485 port using a twisted pair cable, observing correct A and B line polarity.
Set the EE210 Modbus slave address using the device configuration tool or DIP switches, and note the address for gateway setup.
Configure the gateway serial port to 9600 baud, odd parity (1 stop bit), matching the EE210 default communication settings.
Import the E+E Elektronik EE210 template from the ModbusCloud template library into your project.
Assign the correct Modbus slave address in the template and verify that live values for temperature and humidity appear on the dashboard.
If multiple devices share the RS-485 bus, ensure each has a unique slave address and add a 120 ohm termination resistor at the end of the bus.
Things to watch for
Why do I see incorrect or very large values for temperature or humidity?
The EE210 uses float32 encoding across two consecutive registers. Verify that your gateway is configured for the correct byte order (big-endian or little-endian) as specified in the EE210 documentation. A wrong byte order will produce nonsensical values.
Why does the gateway fail to communicate with the EE210?
Check that the baud rate is set to 9600 and parity is set to odd (1 stop bit). Also confirm the RS-485 wiring polarity, as swapped A and B lines will prevent communication.
Why are some registers returning zero or no data while others work?
The EE210 register addresses are not sequential. Temperature is at register 25, RH at 27, dew point at 31, absolute humidity at 35, and frost point at 41. Verify each register address individually in the gateway configuration.
Can I connect multiple EE210 sensors on the same RS-485 bus?
Yes, as long as each sensor has a unique Modbus slave address. Use proper bus topology with a twisted pair cable and 120 ohm termination resistors at both ends of the bus for reliable communication.
